Wednesday From The Villages

June 16, 2010 - One Response

We are ministering in five different villages, putting floors in two different Roma (Gypsy) churches, putting up murals in a small children’s room at one church, and holding numerous children’s Bible clubs outdoors. We play soccer with the youth in the evenings and share testimonies and songs about Christ. We are swamped with children from the moment we arrive in the villages, and it is already difficult to think of saying goodbye tomorrow evening. Continue to pray for us. We are on track to complete both floors with our small but amazing crew of David, Chloe, Clarissa, and Lucas-they are incredibly hard workers!

Everyone else is multi-task-ministering with children, youth, and even adults. They have visited in the homes of the Roma, both listening and sharing, and are giving their all in the brutally hot sun from morning till night.

Our nightly worship times have been moving as we have heard from Pastor Ben who endured persecution during Communism but refused to denounce his faith, and from our worship speaker, Jim Misloski who has an incredible gift for clearly communicating the week’s theme: Love Like Crazy…

Keep us in your prayers as we go into the final days of our ministry here in the villages surrounding Braila.

Five Years Ago

May 16, 2010 - One Response

Five years ago, International World Changers held a kids camp on this empty lot in the village of Insuratei, Romania.

Five Years Later

Five years later on that very spot there now stands a brand new Roma Church.

Service Projects

May 16, 2010 - Leave a Response

This years World Changers Braila Project will have the opportunity to continue participating in this work. We will be doing several service projects in and around the area including putting wood floors down into two new churchs.

Youth And Kid’s Camps

May 16, 2010 - Leave a Response

We will be in at least four different villages during the week holding backyard Bible type camps for the younger kids, then playing soccer and sharing with older youth later in the day.

Accommodations

May 16, 2010 - Leave a Response

We will be staying at an orphanage during our time in Braila. If you have ever done a DOMESTIC World Changers Project, these accommodations probably look quite opulent to you. We don’t have to sleep on floors here. Beds for everyone and western toilets.

Bob And Gayle

May 16, 2010 - Leave a Response

Our “field representatives” (as we like to call them on a World Changers Project) are Bob and Gayle Hill. They are originally from the Memphis, Tennessee area and have been working in Braila for the last six years.

Questions?

This is just a quick web site to give everyone a glimpse of what the Romanian Project will look like. It is not an omnibus source for information. If you want to leave a question here, I will try to answer it to the best of my ability. -Dennis
